Waste Management as a Topic at the "Belgrade Investment Days 2017"

At the "Belgrade Investment Days 2017," Miodrag Mitrović, the owner of Miteco Kneževac, also presented. Within the Directors' Panel, Mitrović opened the topic of investing in waste management infrastructure in the city of Belgrade.

As the owner of one of the leading companies in Serbia and the region dealing with industrial and hazardous waste disposal, Miodrag Mitrović highlighted the investment potential of waste management, thereby combining the themes of investment in infrastructure and renewable energy sources (ecology and energy).

The "Directors' Panel - Investments in the Region and Export Opportunities" was a chance to exchange experiences among leaders of companies operating in Serbia and the region, and to present the investment potential of Belgrade, Serbia, and the region.

The Increasing Investment Potential of Serbia and Belgrade

Serbia stood out in 2016 for its greenfield foreign direct investment index, exceeding the expected number of greenfield foreign investments by more than 12 times. The improving credit ratings of Belgrade and Serbia, highlighted by leading international rating agencies, contribute to the investment potential of our country.
The "Financial Times" precisely focused on Serbia according to the greenfield foreign direct investment index and highlighted the third "Belgrade Investment Days 2017" as a way to present successfully realized investments and promote potentials for domestic and foreign investment.

The Third Economic Forum "Belgrade Investment Days 2017"

The economic forum "Belgrade Investment Days," organized by the City of Belgrade, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and CEDEF, was held on November 9 and 10, 2017, in the "Sava Centar." This investment forum gathered over 400 participants from the country, the region, and the world, including statesmen from the country and region, leaders and representatives of domestic and foreign companies, local governments, and state institutions.

Regional cooperation and connectivity, greenfield and brownfield investments, strategic partnerships, and support from international financial institutions were some of the topics of this year's investment days.

Within a separate panel, CEOs of leading domestic and global companies shared their experiences. With the aim of promoting our country and Belgrade on the investment map, businesspeople were also given the opportunity to present problems to relevant state institutions and receive solutions for them.

Directors' Panel within the "Belgrade Investment Days 2017"

Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of Serbia, opened the ceremonial plenary session within the "Belgrade Investment Days 2017" forum, after which the CEDEF Panel titled "Directors' Panel - Investments in the Region and Export Opportunities" followed. This panel, held on November 10, 2017, was reserved for business leaders, domestic and foreign investors, brand and business creators.

Business opportunities in Serbia and the region were the subject of discussion at the Directors' Panel. Leaders of companies operating in Serbia shared their experiences, highlighted the advantages of investing in Belgrade, Serbia, and the region. They pointed out business challenges, as well as areas that need to be improved for better business operations in Serbia and to attract more investments.

Infrastructure, renewable energy sources (energy and ecology), agriculture, information technology, real estate, and tourism were highlighted as areas with prospects for investment in Serbia.

Miodrag Mitrović, the owner of Miteco Kneževac, the leading operator in the country and region in industrial and hazardous waste management, participated in the discussion precisely on the topic of investing in waste management infrastructure in the city of Belgrade, which touches upon several areas designated for the Directors' Panel.
